Why join
The Hamburger Deutsch-Indische Gesellschaft e.V. is a meeting place between two cultures. Our members are people with Indian roots, Germans with a lifelong interest in India, students, academics, business people, artists — and the simply curious. Membership is open to anyone who shares that interest.
As a member you
- receive invitations to all our events, often before they are announced publicly;
- attend our lecture series, concerts and cultural evenings at reduced or no cost;
- join our celebrations of Indian and German festivals, from Diwali to the Christmas market;
- meet a network of people connecting Hamburg and India across culture, academia and business;
- help decide the direction of the society at our general meetings.
Who can become a member
Individuals, couples and families are all welcome, as are companies and institutions that wish to support the society’s work. You do not need to have a connection to India — an interest in it is enough.
